If you were like me as a kid, you grew up on Nintendo and Nintendo 64 before upgrading to a PlayStation or Xbox. Your parents would tell you to "stop playing that game so much" or "you need to spend more time on your homework and not play that game". We were told as kids by parents and family members that we would never be able to make a living off of video games. It's safe to say they were wrong in more ways than one.
Playing video games and creating content around those video games has not only given us jobs and careers, but it has made some people A LOT of money. The gaming space has become such a hard niche industry to become successful in and it's painful to watch great content creators not be noticed. We all have something different to offer our audiences but first, you need to have an audience.
I created this podcast to help shine a light on the difficulties small streamers and content creators face and how we as friends and family members can help them grow. Telling people that you stream video games or make content around gaming can feel embarrassing at times and it can be difficult to tell people this is what you do in your spare time for fear of what they might think of you. It's time we support our friends who have this dream of content creation and I hope through this new project I can bring awareness to that!

What a week it has been for gaming as a culture. In today's episode, we talk about the recent events surrounding NICKMERCS and Call of Duty that didn't just cause a mess in the gaming scene but a massive mess in general. We also talk about some comments I've seen on this topic and how wrong some of these "hot takes" are and the problems they create when a statement is misrepresented or changed to fit a specific narrative. Strap it in because this one is a long one!

Everyone experiences some type of burnout but does burnout translate to streamers and content creators? How could they feel burnt out when they are living their dreams? We are all susceptible to feeling burnt out but for streamers it might look a little different than you'd expect.
